Sheik Yerbouti

Here's something you probably don't want to picture: a 41-year-old white guy dancing around his office to techno music. Okay, I wouldn't exactly say I'm "dancing around," as I'm actually sitting in my chair typing this while the music (Underworld's Dubnobasswithmyhead) plays. Still, my head is kind of bopping around, and depending on the word I'm typing, I am very quickly pointing one of my hands up in the air like Travolta in Saturday Night Fever before whipping it quickly back down to the keyboard again. Also I kind of have this sort of bopping-ass movement going as well. So all in all, it might even be worse than watching me dance.

I think it might be time to call it a day.

Fleas or spiders.

That's what I think it is. The source of my itching and scratching. Either way, it is absolutely driving me nuts. Between that and the heat I can barely sit at this computer. Plus The Wife is talking at me and I absolutely cannot concentrate. So, I'm not sticking around. I'm going to scratch myself until I bleed and listen to the sound of The Wife drone on.

But before I leave, let's continue with this week's photo theme! Here's to marriage and fleas!

Bite me

Actually, don't. Because somebody or something else did--like all over my body. Sometime between my last post and now, I apparently was attacked by like 1,000 mosquitos or spiders or something, because I am covered in bites from head to toe. Weird. Icky. Bloody. Add to that a serious lack of sleep, and a little too much work to do, and you have a rather unhappy fellow here today. You know what I need? Yep, that's right. A thumbs up. That always does the trick. So this one is for me. And, hey, if you get something out of it too--you go right ahead. Go, us!

Thumbs up!

Part of every manager's job is to inspire and lead his team. I read that in a book once, and now try to remember it every once in awhile, in between playing Minesweeper, picking my nose, and checking out porn sites on the Internet all day.

Inspired by yesterday's blog post, I decided that what better way to provide some positive reinforcement for my hard-working staff than to give them the ol' thumbs up, to let them know that their leader cares and appreciates all their effort.

And I bet you, too, could use the occasional thumbs up from me, couldn't you? Come on, you know you could! So here you go, champ. Keep up the good work! Keep fighting the good fight! Jeff Green is watchin' ya, and he likes what he sees!

Sissy Neck

I have just returned from what people my age like to call a "rock concert." Loud music was played, cannibas was smoked, eardrums were ruptured. A good time was had by all.

This is the second time I've seen Beck this year, the first time with The Flaming Lips, one of the world's coolest bands. I was in the minority amongst my friends attending today, who all felt this show--at the fabulous Greek Theater in Berkeley--was better than the Flaming Lips show. But I did have a great time and was reminded, once again, that one really does need to go out and hear live music every once in awhile, if for no other reason than to get the opportunity to look at fabulous looking girls with those exposed-belly t-shirts. I love those.

Still, I did spend a little bit of time at the show reminiscing about other shows I'd seen at the Greek Theater in the past, rather than paying attention to the show at hand. Talking Heads (twice). The Grateful Dead. Elvis Costello. Van Morrison. Bob Dylan. Butthole Surfers. The floppy haired kid from American Idol. Dick Cheney. Fabio. Whitey McMilktoast and the Caucasian Invasion. I could go on, of course, but why bother?

Rock!

Okay, I'm back.

I actually really do have some good excuses for the--what is it, a month?--long absence here. First and foremost, I blame Christian Crumlish, the captain in charge of The Good Ship BloggyPop here, which was hacked and subsequently shut down for a good coupla weeks. I also blame Christian for myriad other problems in my life, but that is a subject for another day. Also to blame is the E3 convention, the big yearly gathering in My Line of Work, which kept me preoccupied and busy for a good chunk of time. Finally, and most importantly, is my own laziness and sloth, which even in the best of times can be a rather overwhelming force.

But let's leave all that in the past, shall we? Let's march on, boldly, triumphantly, like a modern-age, nearsighted, and concave-chested Ghengis Kahn, into the great uncharted bloggy beyond.

Are you with me? Who's with me? Let's go!
